Gold and Shadow evokes the feeling of light breaking through — tentative, shifting, never quite settling. Pale gold and warm cream push up through layers of deep charcoal and slate, while loose, gestural marks suggest a landscape caught between storm and stillness. Each piece is created by Joanna using archival materials and an intuitive, layered approach to painting. Working with oil, acrylic and charcoal on canvas, she builds texture through expressive marks, layering, scraping and reworking.

Shipping & Delivery

For delivery within New Zealand, artworks are carefully packaged and shipped unframed on their stretcher bars, ready to hang or frame.

For international delivery, artworks are carefully removed from their stretcher bars, rolled and securely packaged in a protective tube for safe transport. The artwork can then be re-stretched and framed locally on arrival.
