The Pink Ladies is an immersive, figurative-abstract work that pulses with energy and femininity. A world of rose, magenta, deep plum and violet unfolds across the canvas — figures emerge and dissolve within the layers, their forms fluid and intertwined, caught mid-movement as if in dance or conversation.

Gestural brushwork builds a rich, textured surface, while dark expressive marks in the upper right add drama and contrast, grounding the warmth of the pinks with something more mysterious. There is a sense of gathering here — of women, of stories, of colour — layered and alive.

With more than 20 years working in fashion and specialising in pattern making, Joanna brings a love of line, form and texture to her intuitive painting practice. Her work explores the space between structure and spontaneity.

Each piece is created by Joanna using archival materials and an intuitive, layered approach to painting. Working with oil, acrylic and charcoal on canvas, she builds texture through expressive marks, layering, scraping and reworking.

Shipping & Delivery

For delivery within New Zealand, artworks are carefully packaged and shipped unframed on their stretcher bars, ready to hang or frame.

For international delivery, artworks are carefully removed from their stretcher bars, rolled and securely packaged in a protective tube for safe transport. The artwork can then be re-stretched and framed locally on arrival.
